Maintenance and storage
Keep the machine, equipment and accessories in a safe condition.
Check that the engine's fitting bolts and other joints are securely tightened before each
use. Never use the woodchipper if it is in a poor mechanical state or if it requires
repairing. Check that all safety elements and guards are correctly fitted. These safety
elements are important for safety.
Never store the machine with fuel in the tank in a building where there are sources of
ignition such as water heaters, hot canons, tumble driers or similar. Allow the
machines to cool down before storing it in an enclosed area.
For more details about storage over longer periods of time, see the section
Maintenance.
If you need to drain the fuel tank, do this outdoors.
If it is necessary to loosen a blockage from the feed chute or discharge chute, or to
carry out an inspection or repairs on the machine, where one of the moving parts can
come into contact with a part of the body or clothing, switch off the machine and wait
until all moving parts have come to a complete standstill, then remove the sparkplug(s)
and allow the engine to cool down before attempting to loosen the blockage or before
carrying out the inspection or repair.
Check the blade bolts are securely tightened before use every time. Also visually
inspect the blades for wear or damage. When replacing blades, replace with blades
that have the same specifications as the ordinals.
The sharpness of the blades must be checked.
Check the gap between the blades and counter knife every time a blade is replaced or
sharpened.
Never allow changes to be made to safety equipment and check the safety
equipment's functions every time.
Check the drive belt every time the unit shall be used. Check for damage, cracks or
worn areas. Do not use the unit if damage, cracks or worn areas are found.
Never make modifications to the machine's throttle valve. The throttle valve controls
the maximum operating speed and protects the engine. It is dangerous to operate the
engine at a higher speed and it can damage the engine and the machine's other
moving parts.
