moving parts.
• Start the engine in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and keep hands
and feet at a safe distance from the feed chute and discharge chute areas.
• Never lift or carry the machine while the engine is operating.
• Never operate the machine under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or medicine.
Having a clear mind is important for safety.
• Never let others use the machine if they cannot pay attention to what they are doing.
• Pay attention when feeding material into the machine to ensure that pieces of metal,
glass and other foreign objects are not fed into the machine, as this will break the
machine or lead to personal injury.
• Keep the discharge area clear of persons, animals, buildings, glass and other things
that could interfere with the free ejection, lead to personal injury or other damage. Be
aware that wind conditions can alter the direction of the ejected woodchip.
• Do not allow ejected material to pile up in the discharge area as this will prevent the
correct ejection and can lead to kickback in the discharge chute.
• Never allow any of the machine's parts – especially the area round the cooling fins and
silencer – to become blocked by processed material, leaves, grease or other
combustible material.
• Do not use the engine if the air filter or the cover over the carburettor's air intake is
removed, except when adjusting. This can lead to a fire hazard.
Towing
Always comply with the applicable local regulations relating to towing on public roads.
THIS MACHINE MAY NOT BE TOWED ON PUBLIC ROADS.
Before towing, ensure that the woodchipper is correctly and securely fitted to the
vehicle and that the safely chains are attached. Ensure that the chains are long enough
so that it is possible to turn.
Do not allow any person to sit or drive on the woodchipper. This can lead to serious
personal injury.
Exercise caution regarding hidden hazards and traffic. Do not drive with passengers.
Do not drive with a load or wood inside the woodchipper. It can fall out and be a
danger to other vehicles driving behind you.
Exercise caution when reversing with the woodchipper.
Adjust your driving speed in accordance with the terrain and conditions. Do not drive
more than 10 km/h when towing.
