WARNING
Fuel is highly flammable and fuel vapours are explosive. Take the following
precautions:
Store fuel and oil in approved containers.
Keep fuel and oil at a safe distance from heat and open flames and keep out of the
reach of children.
Only fill the fuel tank when outside and do not smoke when filling the fuel tank.
Check the fuel level before starting the motor. Never remove the fuel cap or fill with
fuel while the engine is running or if the engine is still warm. Let the engine cool down.
If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine but first move the machine away
from the spill area and avoid risking the generation of any kind of a source of ignition
until the fumes have dissipated.
Ensure that the tank and the fuel cap are properly and securely in place again.
Never store the machine or fuel tank indoors where there are open flames or where
sparks can occur, e.g. from hot water tanks, heat cannons, tumble driers, boilers,
stoves, etc.
To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine and silencer free of dirt. Wipe up any spilled
fuel. Always allow the machine to cool down before storing away.
Never attempt to make any kind of adjustment while the engine is running.
Operation
Never place hands, feet or other body parts in the woodchipper's feed chute or
discharge chute or in the vicinity of any moving parts. Always keep to a safe distance
from the discharge chute. If it is necessary to push material into the feed chute, use a
log or similar. NEVER USE YOUR HANDS.
Keep your face and body at a safe distance from the discharge chute to avoid being hit
by ejected material.
The machine may only be used on a flat surface. Never use the machine on a slippery,
wet, muddy or icy surface.
Exercise caution regarding hidden hazards and traffic. Never permit any passengers on
the machine.
If the blades hit a foreign object or if the machine begins to vibrate abnormally or
sound abnormal, stope the engine immediately. Once the engine has come to a
complete standstill, carry out the following procedure:
Remove the spark plug lead and ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete
standstill.
• Examine the machine for damage.
• Repair or replace damaged parts before restarting and using the machine.
