Rodiotor Filler Cop
The
rodiotor
cop is on
otmospheric
vented cop. The
otmospheric
vent
volve
closes
only
if
there
is

coolont
vopor
flow through the vent volve
of

.7
cubic
feet per
minute.
When
the vent volve
closes,
the
system will
become
pressurized
to
1
3
pounds
per
squore
inch.
Pressurizing
the
cooling
system
increoses
the boiling point
of
the coolont
opproximotely
3o
F.
for
every pound
of
pressure.

To test
the rodiotor
flller cop
(Fig.
6), first wet the cop rubber
gosket to
insure
on oirtight
seol;
then ottoch
the
cop
to the
tester.
Since
the
rodiotor
cop
is vented
to
otmosphere
until
the
coolont
vopor
flow
through
the
vent
volve
exceeds
.4
to
.7
cubic
feet
per
minute,
it
will
require severol
violent
pump
strokes
to
seot
the volve
when
the cop
is
in the upright
position.
The
cop
should
be copoble
of
retoining
pressure
within
o
ronge
of
12
to
I5
pounds per squore
inch.

the
bottom or

must

open
