The
front
clulch

the input shoft.

sec-
ondory
sun
geor is held from
turning
by
the front bond (Fig.6).
The engine drives
the
primory
sun
geor.
The primory sun
geor
drives
the
plonet
pinions.
The secondory sun
geor, being
held
from
turning, forces
the plonet
pinions
to "wolk"
oround
the
secondory
sun
geor.
The
plonet
pinions drive
the
in-
ternol geor ot on
intermediote
speed.
High (Direct Drive)
The
f
ront
clutch couples
the
pri-
mory sun geor
to
the input
shoft.
The
reor
clutch olso
couples
the
secondory
sun geor
to
the input shoft.
Thus with
both sun geors coupled to the
input
shoft, there is
o
direct drive
to
the
output
shoft (Fig.
7).

The
front
clutch couples
the
primory
sun geor to the
input
shoft. The
reor
bond
holds
the
pinion corrier
f
rom
turning (Fig.
8).
Although
the sprog
clutch
will
hold
the
pinion corrier from turning
when

{orword drive lood is
opplied,
the
sprog clutch
will
disengoge
when
o
torque lood
reversol
occurs such os de-
scending
o grode
using
the
engine
{or
broking. The
reor bond
opplicotion
prevents
o
coosting
condition.
Reverse
The
reor
clutch
couples
the
second-
ory
sun
geor to the
input shoft.
The
reor bond
holds
the
pinion
corrier
from turning
(Fig.
9).
The
engine turns the
secondory
sun
geor. The
secondory sun
geor
drives
the
secondory pinions
which
turn
the
internol
geor in the
reverse direction.
Pork
The
porking powl is engoged
with
the externol geor teeth
on the
output
shoft internol geor. The output
shoft
is
locked
to
the
tronsmission cose
ond
connot turn.
The porking powl
is
engoged by
in-
ternol
Iinkoge connected
to
the
mon-
uol volve
lever.
