FRONT
CLUTCH ORIFICE
CONTROL VALVE
The
front
clutch
oriflce
control
volve
controls
the rote
of
front
clutch
op-
plv.
The
front
clutch orifice control
volve
is
spring looded
to
the
closed position,
routing
opply
pressure
through
o
re-
stricting
orifice. Front clutch
pressure
moves
the
orifice volve to the open
un-
restricted
position.

clutch oriflce

unrestricted

to the front
clutch, governor,

With the front
clutch engoged,
the
primory
sun
geor
ottempts
to
turn
the
plonetory corrier
counterclockwise.
The
one
woy
sprog clutch holds
the
cor-
rier from
turning, therefore,
the
trons-
mission
is
in
1st geor.

D-1
The
l
-2
shift
will
occur when
the
{orce
of
governor
pressure
overcomes
the throttle
pressure
ond spring
pres-
sure forces
on
the
l-2
shift
volve.
When
the
l-2
shift volve
moves, the
front
servo
opply
possoge
is
opened.
The
front clutch
remoins
engoged
ond the front bond, holding the
sec-
ondory
sun
geor
is
opplied,
therefore,
the
tronsmission
is
in
second geor.
Third
Geor D-l
The
2-3 shift
occurs
when
governor
pressure overcomes
the
combined
forces
of
throttle ond spring
pressures
on the 2-3
shift volve.
When the
2-3
shift
volve
moves, the
reor
clutch
opply ond front
servo
re-
leose
possoges
ore
opened.
The
front
clutch
remoins
engoged,
the reor
clutch
is
engoged
ond
the
front
servo
is
releosed, therefore,
the
tronsmission
is
in third
geor.
D-2 Drive Ronge
When the selector lever
is moved to
the D-2
driving ronge,
the
monuol
volve is
moved
to
open circuits
l,
2,
ond
3.
Circuit

directs
control
pressure to
ronge control volve. The ronge
control
volve is
moved
to
direct control
pres-
sure
to
the
governor
oreo
of lhe
1-2
shift volve.
Circuit
2
directs
control
pressure to
the 2-3 shift volve.
Circuit
3
directs
control
pressure to
the front
clutch
oriflce control
volve,
through the oriflce
to
the
front
clutch
ond
governor,
the l-2
shift volve
ond
the front
clutch
orifice
volve.
