The clutch driven
plote
is
spring
cushioned
with o focing riveted
to
both
sides. The
coil
springs
oround
the
hub
obsorb
the power
shocks
ond
cushion
the driving
mechonism.
The
clutch
throw-out beoring
is
of
the
boll type,
pocked
ot
time
of
monu-
focture,
ond
requires
no further
lubri-
cotion.
No
odjustment
for weor
is
provided
in the
clutch itself.
An
individuol
od-
lustment
is built into the
clutch
cover
to
odiust
the
height
of
the
releose
lev-
ers.
This
odiusting nut is locked
in
po-
sitlon
ond should
never
be
disturbed
unless
the
clutch
ossembly
hos
been
disossembled
f
or the
replocement of
worn
ports
or to
correct
the
height
of
the
re
leose
levers.
When the clutch pedol
is
depressed,
the
releose becrring
is
moved
toword
the
flywheel
ond
contocts
the
inner
ends
of the
releose levers.

removing
the
clutch cover
from the
flywheel,

few
turns
until the
spring lension
on

clutch cover

which could
be
distorted
by
incor-
rect
removol, resulttng

clutch
chotter when
reused.
CRANKSHAFT PILOT BUSHING
When
o
clutch
ossembly
is
removed
from the flywheel,
olwoys inspect
the
cronkshoft
pilot
bushing
for
scorlng
or
Ioose
condition.
The
bushing
moy
be
removed
by
using
o top. After
the
top
hqs
bottomed
in the
bore,
the
bushing
will be
forced
out. To provide
initiol
lubricotion
for
this
bushing,
coot
light-
ly
with
o
short
fiber,
medium
wheel
beoring
greose.
CLUTCH
DISASSEMBLY
The
clutch cover
ond
pressure plote
ore
under
spring
tension
ot oll
times.
Therefore,
coTe
must
be
exercised
when
o
clutch cover
ossembly is
disos-
sembled.
Ploce
the clutch
cover
ossem-
bly in on
orbor
press
with
o
hord
wood block
under
the
pressure plote.
Hove
the block
of
such
o
length
thcrt
the
cover
con
move
down
ond not
in-
terfere
with
the
block.

on the spring

not interfere with the eyebolt

relieving

sure

cover

stick on

pressure

bosses.
