the coble
conduit
out
of the
lever
hondle ond then
lift
coble
out of the
slot.

remove
the front coble,

exception
of
removing
the
lever

sembly.
POWER
BRAKES
Power
broking
is
o
method
of
hy-
droulicolly opplying
the wheel
broke
units
with power
supplied
by
o
pres-
sure differentiol
between
engine
voc-
uum
ond
otmospheric pressure.
It
is
octuoted ond controlled
by
o
minimum
omount
of foot
pedol
pressure.
The
combined
vocuum
power
unit
ond
moster
cylinder
is
on
integrol
port
of the
broke
system.
Should
o
vocuum
foilure
occur,
the
vocuum
in the front
side
of the
dio-
phrogm
will
ollow the
operotor
to
moke 3
or
4 power opplicotions
before
the supply
is
completely
depleted.
The single diophrogm
type
power
broke is
o
self-contoined vocuum
hy-
droulic
power
broking
unit.
It
is
of
the
vocuum
suspended
type which
utilizes
engine intoke monifold vocuum
ond

rubber

by the volve body,

leosed position,
the
poppet
return
spring holds
the
poppet ogoinst
the
otmospheric
port
seot.
A
speciol
beor-
ing
ond seol
is used
to
seol
the
open-
ing
between
volve body
sleeve
ond
the
reor end piote.
Vocuum
is
supplied
to the
power
unit through
o
vocuum
check
volve
locoted
in the front
hous-
ing. Air for
operotion
is
odmitted
through the
oir
fllter
locoted
within
the
volve
housing sleeve.
A
rubber
volve
r,od
guord
keeps
dust
ond
dirt
from
en-
terlng
the volve
housing.
A

coted

the front
vocuum
chomber
seols

opening
between
lhe
vocu-

hydroulic

er.
The hydroulic plunger forms
the
link
betr,veen
the
vocuum
power

octuoted
control
volve integrol with the
vocuum
power
diophrogm which controls
the
degree
of
power
broke
opplicotion
or
releose
in
occordonce
with
the foot
pressure
opplied
to
the volve
operoting
rod
through
the broke pedol
linkoge.
The
control
volve
consists
of o
single
pop-
pet
with on
otmospheric
port
ond
o
vocuum
port.
The
vocuum
port
seot
is
o
port
of
the volve body
ottoched
to
the
diophrogm
ossembly.
The
otmos-
pheric
port
seot is
o
port
of
the
volve
plunger which
moves
within the
volve
housing
ond
vocuum
power
diophrogm
ossembly.
