CPU Installation
The cPCI-3500A CPU module supports Intel Socket-7 PPGA Low Power
Pentium-MMX processors of 66 MHz front side bus (FSB). It is still suggested
to install CPU heatsink to guarantee the system stability. The modules with
standard configurations are equipped with CPU and heatsink, and the CPU
speed is upon request. For OEM customers, please follow up the following
note to install the CPU.
The Socket-7 connector uses a standard PPGA socket connector. To install
the CPU, insert it to the socket by aligning the notch of the Socket-7 CPU with
the one of the PPGA socket.
Note: Ensure that the CPU heat sink and the CPU top surface are in
tightly contact to avoid CPU overheating problem that would
cause your system to hang or be unstable.
