REPLACE ENGINE CONTROL UNIT
(ECU)

Remove ECU

IMPORTANT: Save all hardware for reinstallation.
1. Stop engine, remove key and wait for all moving parts
to stop and for hot parts to cool.
2. Disconnect spark plug wire.
3. Disconnect wire harnesses from ECU.
4. Remove hardware retaining ECU and bracket and
remove bracket. See Figure 124.
5. Remove hardware retaining ECU to bracket and
remove ECU. See Figure 125.

Install ECU

1. Secure ECU to bracket with original hardware. See
Figure 125.
2. Secure ECU bracket to control panel with original
hardware. See Figure 123.
3. Reconnect wire harnesses to ECU.
4. Reconnect spark plug wire.
