Control elements 1. Trigger lever The trigger lever is used to start up the VOGT Hammer. The rammer is supplied with compressed air while the trigger lever is pressed down. VOGT TurboSpade With a low blow frequency but a high blow force and a sturdy 18 mm chis- el holder, the VOGT TurboSpade is ideal for vertical work.
Control elements 1. Trigger lever The trigger lever on the VOGT Soil Aerator is used to insert the injection tube into the material to be loosened (e.g. the soil). The rammer is sup- plied with compressed air while the trigger lever is pressed down.

32 Intended use VOGT Hammer / TurboSpade VOGT Hammers / TurboSpades are hand-held devices (machinery) for performing mechanical tasks such as compacting, ramming, scraping, cut- ting, breaking up, removing, solidifying, uncovering, cleaning, digging, and loosening materials or aeration. They must be used together with original VOGT tools and accessories.
The rammer on a VOGT compressed air device must never be held under water. This may cause damage to the device or even render it unusable.
Page 14
< 10° Always use a VOGT compressed air device that is appropriate for the various tasks to be performed in order to prevent excessive strain on your body. Suitable device versions and sets are available for different tasks.
The hose clamp prevents the end of the hose from lashing out if the coupling is unintentionally released under pressure. Always bring the stop cock on the VOGT Soil Aerator and the VOGT Air Injector back into its locked position after aerating the material to be loos- ened in order to prevent compressed air from flowing out uncontrollably.
If any dust or fumes are released, the top priority is to monitor them where they are released. A dust suction (Z 800) is available as an optional accessory for VOGT Hammers / TurboSpades. The VOGT Hammer / TurboSpade must be operated and maintained as ...

Transportation The VOGT compressed air devices are carried to where they are to be used. It is advisable to use the VOGT transport case available as an acces- sory or a similar transportation aid for this purpose. The transport case has space for the compressed air device, the most important accessories, the operating manual, and other documents if required.
Getting ready for operation Getting ready for operation Before you can use your VOGT compressed air device, it must be fitted with a tool appropriate for the task and connected to a suitable com- pressed air supply. 51 Inserting and removing tools The various tools available for the VOGT compressed air devices allow them to be used flexibly.

Getting ready for operation Recommended operating pressure, VOGT Hammer Task / Material Value / Unit Renovating joints 3.0 to 5.0 bar (44 to 72 psi) Floor coverings, coatings 4.0 to 6.0 bar (58 to 87 psi) Parquet, laminate 5.0 to 6.0 bar (72 to 87 psi) Thin plaster, textured plaster 5.0 bar (72 psi)
An effective feed rate of at least 2,500 l/min. Connecting the compressed air supply Follow these steps to connect your VOGT compressed air device to the compressed air supply: 1. Secure the connecting coupling using a hose connection protection (I91 011).
Always hold the VOGT compressed air device in both hands when working with it: With the VOGT Hammer, put one hand on the stick or the optional handle (Z 625 and Z 650 respectively) and the other on the handle.

7. Close the stop cock on the control valve. 8. Pull the VOGT Soil Aerator out again. If the injection tube gets stuck, it can be freed with a few blows from the rammer. If this does not work, use the shaft extractor for Injection- or Aeration tube (I91 006).

After no more than four hours of operating the device, check whether the tool holder is covered with a film of oil. If not, drop a few drops of VOGT Special Oil Z 500 into the connecting hose. We would always recommend operating the device together with the VOGT precision in-line oiler Z 300.
Page 31
4. If necessary, readjust the quantity of oil on the in-line oiler. Oil types Please use VOGT Special Oil (Z 500) or a resin-free pneumatic oil when working in standard conditions. On request, VOGT can supply the following oils for non-standard condi- tions of use: ...
For this reason, always fix faults as soon as you discover them or contact VOGT Customer Service. Cleaning Clean the VOGT compressed air device, the tools, the hose, and other accessories with a clean dry or oiled cloth. ...
Faults of any kind must be fixed immediately to prevent major damage to the VOGT compressed air device. If a fault occurs, disconnect the VOGT compressed air device from the compressed air supply straight away. Check once again that the device is depressurized before troubleshooting the fault.
