Configuring Destination Sensitive Accounting Based on BGP Community

In this example, all IP unicast traffic forwarded by the BlackDiamond switch to one of
two BGP communities is counted. Each IP subnet associated with the configured BGP
community is mapped to a different accounting bin. The steps that follow describe how
to configure the accounting feature. This example assumes that the VLANs are created,
IP forwarding is enabled, and accounting is enabled.
1 Create the route map
the newly created route map and assign a bin number to each BGP community.

BGP Accounting Example
When configured as described previously, the following traffic patterns are created
through externally attached devices. Route 192.168.52.0/24 and 192.168.53.0/24 are
learned from a neighbor BGP router. Route 192.168.52.0/24 is associated with
community 1111:1 and 192.168.53.0 is associated with community 2222:2. Each of these
routes are mapped to a different bin number, bin number one and bin number two
respectively. Route 192.168.54.0/24 is associated with community 3333:3, but is not
mapped to an accounting bin number.
