Children and pedelecs

Inform yourself on whether the child is old
enough to ride the bike and has the necessary
license to do so before allowing him or her to
ride the pedelec. Pedelecs may only be ridden
by children that are of legal age and possess the
necessary permit.
In the EU, a generally accepted recommendation
is a minimum age of 14 years for the use of a
pedelec.
Don't let children who are unattend-
ed ride the pedelec without first
thoroughly instructing them on how
to use it. Explain to children the dangers of
using electrical devices.

Carrying children / trailers for children

• Please only use safe, certified children's seats.
• The child must wear a helmet, their feet must
be tucked in and protected from any possible
contact with moving parts, such as spokes.
• A child seat changes the way your pedelec
behaves when riding. Take note of the longer
braking distances and the steering which could
be less stable. Practice riding with a child seat
in a safe area before taking to public roads.
Only install children's seats on
pedelecs which are intended for this
kind of equipment. Carbon fibre
frames and components are not suitable for
the use of children's seats. Never attach a
children's seat to the seat post. Wrap and
protect all springs and moving parts on the
saddle and seat post. Please ensure that
your child cannot trap their fingers any-
where. This could result in injury!
