4. Remove the attaching bolt of the ignition
coil.
5. Pull out the ignition coil.
NOTE
Be very careful not to pull out the wire
itself during the removal.
If there is the possibility for pulling the
wire, disconnect the connector of the igni­
tion coil.
WARNING
Be careful not to burn yourself as the
boot and spark plug may be hot.

6. Unscrew and remove the spark plug with
a spark plug wrench.
7. Check the insulator tip of the spark plug
to see if it is light brown without any
fouling. If it is not, have the spark plug
cleaned by an authorized Perodua Serv­
ice Centre.
CAUTION
Do not allow dirt or anything to fall into the
spark plug holes. It may cause engine
damage.

8. Check the gap of the new spark plugs
with a spark plug gap gauge.
Bend the ground electrode to adjust spark
plug gap as specified, if necessary.
For recommended spark plugs, see Sec­
tion 14.
CAUTION
Do not adjust the spark plug gap of the
used spark plug. Otherwise it may
cause engine damage.
Never use spark plugs other than those
specified.
9. Install the spark plug securely.
