When the engine does not start

The engine immobilizer system may not be released. (P. 79)

About steering lock
If you open or close the door after turning off the "engine start / stop" switch,
the steering lock locks the steering wheel.
When you operate the "Stop" switch, the steering lock is automatically released.

When the steering lock cannot be released

About prevention of overheating of steering lock motor

If the engine is started and stopped repeatedly in a short period of time, the operation may be restricted
to prevent the motor from overheating. In that case, please refrain from the operation. It will return to
its original state in about 10 seconds.

When the smart entry & start system indicator flashes yellow
There may be something wrong with the system. Please have a Toyota dealer check it
immediately.
