2-1. How to drive
warning

When starting

For automatic vehicles, always depress the break pedal when the vehicle is stopped with
the engine running. Prevents the car from moving due to the creep phenomenon.
When driving
To avoid accidental depression, do not drive without knowing the positions of the brake
pedal and accelerator pedal.
・ If you mistakenly step on the accelerator pedal for the brake pedal, the car may suddenly
start and lead to an unexpected accident, resulting in serious injury or even death in the
worst case.
・ When retreating, the body will be in a twisted position, making it difficult to
operate the pedals. Be careful to ensure pedal operation.
・ Even when moving the car a little, take the correct driving posture and make sure that the
brake pedal and accelerator pedal are depressed.
・ Operate the brake pedal with your right foot. Brake operation with the left foot is dangerous
because it may lead to an unexpected accident such as delayed response in an emergency.
Do not drive on flammable materials or park your car near flammable
materials.
Exhaust pipes and exhaust gas become hot, and if there are combustibles nearby, there is a risk of fire, which
is dangerous.
In an automatic car, never move backward by inertia with the shift lever in
the forward shift position, or move forward by inertia with the shift lever in R.
The engine may stop, the brakes may not work properly, or the steering wheel may become
heavy, which may cause an unexpected accident or malfunction.
If you notice an exhaust odor in the car, open the door glass and make sure the
back door is closed. Excessive emissions can cause drowsiness and accidents, as
well as serious health problems and, in the worst case, death. Please have a Toyota
dealer check and maintain it immediately.
