The Best Points for Taking an AI Measurement
The best point is right next to the radius protrusion where the pulse is the strongest. If it is not
possible to locate the radius protrusion, the best point is where the pulse feels the strongest
in the area where the bone is close to the skin and is hard to the touch.
[Fig. 19]
Well-positioned
Once a point for taking a reading is located, attach the AI pulse wave sensor unit snugly to the
wrist allowing no gap to form between the unit and the wrist.

How to Apply the AI Pulse Wave Sensor Unit
[Fig. 18]
Poorly-positioned
With the palm up, take the reading from the
artery next to the protrusion of the radius on
the thumb side.
Even if the pulse is strong but the bone
is not close to the skin, the blood vessel
may be hard to access, making it difficult
to apply pressure.
