ASSEMBLY

WARNING
To avoid injury, do not connect this miter
saw to the power source until it is completely assem-
bled and adjusted and you have read and understood
this instruction Manual.
INSTALLING THE MITER HANDLE (FIG. A)
1. Thread the miter handle (1) into the hole located at the
front of the miter table.

UNLOCKING THE SLIDE CARRIAGE (FIG. B)
After removing the saw from the carton, loosen the slide
carriage lock knob (1). When transporting or storing the miter
saw, the slide carriage should
always be locked in position.
The slide carriage lock knob
(1) is located on the right
side of the slide
carriage.

INSTALLING THE DUST COLLECTOR (FIG. C)
1. Release the locking
handle (2) of the dust
collector (1).
2. Place the dust collector neck
opening around the dust
port (3) and lock the
locking handle (2).
NOTE: The
outside diameter
of the dust port
is 1-1/4 in.

CLEAN THE DUST COLLECTOR (FIG. C)
1. Release the locking handle (2) of the dust collector (1).
2. Remove the dust collector (1) from the dust port (3).
3. Pour the saw dust out of the dust collector (1).
4. Place the dust collector neck opening around
the dust port (3) and lock the locking handle (2).

CUTTING HEAD (FIG. D)
WARNING
To avoid injury and damage to the saw,
transport and store the miter saw with the cutting head
locked in the down position. Never use the stop latch
to hold the cutting head in a down position for cutting
operations.
Raising the cutting head:
To unlock the cutting head from the collapsed position:
1. Push down the switch handle (1) slightly.
2. Pull out the head hold-down latch (2).
3. Allow the cutting head to rise to the up position.
Locking the cutting head:
1. Push the cutting head down to its lowest position.
2. Push the head hold-down latch (2) into the locking hole to
lock the cutting head.

NOTE: Hold-down clamp is optional.
1. Loosen the lock knob (3) from
the rear side of the saw base.
2. Place the hold-down clamp
assembly (1) in one of

the mounting holes (2).
3. Tighten the lock knob (3).
