Using the Handset to Control the LDC450B
Chapter 7
The Handset Controller provides a simple, easy to use interface for configuring, controlling and monitoring the
LDC450B. The following sections contain a quick start guide followed by a more detailed view of the features and
capabilities of the Handset Controller.
7.1.

Power Up

With the Handset Controller properly connected to the unit, turn on the LDC450B using the switch located at the
back of the unit.
The system will go through an initialization process that takes from 15 to 90 seconds, during which time all of the
motors will home. During this time the Handset Controller will also initialize and auto-detect the LDC450B and then
display the Cleave Screen.
7.2.

Cleave

This Cleave Screen will show the current file name (only if the parameters of the unit match the parameters of the
last opened file) as well as a few of the critical paramters.
To start a Cleave, press 'Start:. This performs the same action as pressing the blue 'Start' button on the LDC450B.
As the Cleave Process proceeds, the status will be displayed on the Handset.
