9.9 Changing the password for X-Tools
14.Under "Static > SM1281 Config", set the start value of parameter "S7lead?" to TRUE.
15.Load the software to the device.
When requested to do so, enter the password specified under step 8 of the previous handling
instructions (restoring the configuration for CPU SIMATIC S7-1212C DC/DC/DC).
A note to log out is displayed in the web interface.
16.In the web interface, confirm the login with "OK".
After approximately 1 minute, the operating mode switches to "RUN: X-Tools".
17.Once the operating mode has switched to "RUN: X-Tools", withdraw the LAN cable from the
LAN connection
18.Reconnect the internal LAN cable to the LAN connection
19.Close the sensor box. For the UL version of the connectivity module, follow the instructions
provided in ChapterOnly UL version: Opening and closing the sensor box door (Page 25).

Changing the password for X-Tools
Precondition
• A Remote Desktop Connection has been established from the local service PC to the IPC.
• The password (Page 19) for X-Tools is known.
Procedure
1. Open X-Tools on the IPC.
2. Open the "Servers" element in the "Main Management System" configuration window.
