Before cleaning
The interior space must be empty. Remove the
accessories, molds and rails from the interior. In the
relevant chapter you can read how the racks are
removed. ~" Racks" on page 18
Clean the appliance door and the edge surfaces of the
interior at the door seal. Do not sand or wipe the seal!
Clean the inner door glass with warm soapy water
and a cleaning cloth. Dry with a soft cloth. Use oven
spray for heavy soiling.

Loose food residues, grease and meat juices can

catch fire during cleaning. Always remove coarse
contamination from the interior before cleaning
starts. Do not clean any accessories.

Set cleaning function
Before setting the cleaning function, make sure that you
follow all the preparation instructions.
The time for each cleaning mode is fixed and cannot be
changed.
Using the Self-cleaning function selector

Set the cleaning level with the temperature selector.

The display shows a time duration for each setting. The
cleaning function starts after a few seconds. The time
counts down on the display.
Make sure the kitchen is ventilated while the cleaning
is running.
Shortly after starting, the appliance door locks. The
symbol appears in the display
When cleaning is finished, a signal sounds. The display
shows the duration at zero. Switch off the appliance by
turning the function selector knob to the zero position.
The appliance door cannot be opened again until the
cooking compartment has cooled down sufficiently and

has disappeared.
Set the end time to a later time
You can postpone the end time. Press key before start
until the end symbol is highlighted in the display. Use
the @ button to postpone the end.
After starting, the device goes into standby mode.

Change and abort
The cleaning mode cannot be changed after the start.
The end time can be changed as long as the device is
on hold.
If you want to cancel the cleaning function, switch the
appliance off by turning the function selector knob to the
zero position.
The appliance door may remain locked until the cooking
compartment has cooled down sufficiently and the lock
symbol has disappeared from the display.
After cleaning
Let the interior cool down thoroughly. Wipe the
remaining ash in the interior and at the
appliance door with a damp cloth.
Put the racks back in.
Note:
As a result of excessive contamination, a white
deposit can form on the enamel surfaces. These are
leftovers of foodstuffs that are harmless. They do not
affect operation. You can remove the food residues with
citric acid if necessary.
