Safety measures

!
The common rail high-pressure pump, rail, injectors
and high-pressure hose assembly are under high
pressure – even after shutting off the engine!
¶
Before working on the common rail high-pressure
system, wait at least 30 seconds to 5 minutes for the
pressure to be reduced after shutting off the engine.
¶
Observe the display on the digital pressure display
of the connected system diagnostic device (e.g.
Bosch KTS 5XX / 6XX)!
¶
Do not perform any work on the high-pressure
system while the engine is running! Streams of fuel
could ignite on hot engine components when loose-
ning lines, for instance. Risk of fire!
¶
Immediately wipe up and dry any spilled fuel or fuel
that escaped when loosening lines.
¶
Disconnect or connect electrical cables/connectors
only when they are not live.
¶
Avoid sparks!

Product description

3.1

Intended use

These operating instructions describe the Diesel Set 3.1,
referred to as the diesel set in the following. The diesel
set is used for checking the pressure buildup in high-
pressure pumps under engine starting conditions and for
comparison testing of rail pressure sensors, preferably in
Bosch common rail systems. Any other or additional ap-
plication does not constitute the intended use.
