PoE Ports
The RUGGEDCOM RST916P features Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) ports (ports 1 to 10)
powered by an external power supply. Each port complies with the IEEE 802.3af, IEEE
802.3at, and IEEE 802.3bt standards.
The total allowable power budget for all ports is 420 W. If the external power supply
provides less than the PoE power demand, to prevent exceeding the power budget,
port priorities can be set via the RUGGEDCOM ROS operating system to disable low
priority ports when demand is too high. Ports can also be enabled/disabled and
placed on a power schedule to conserve power. For more information, refer to the
RUGGEDCOM ROS Configuration Manual for the RUGGEDCOM RST916P.
