PoE Power Requirements

The RUGGEDCOM RST916P provides Power-over-Ethernet to devices connected to
ports 1 through 10. Requirements for the external power source(s) are dependent on
the IEEE 802.3 standard required by the application:

802.3at
(Type 2)
802.3bt
(Type 3)
Note
For IEC 61850 compliance, use an IEC 61850 compliant PoE power supply with
power cabling no longer than 3 m (118 in).
Otherwise, Siemens recommends using the RUGGEDCOM RPS1300 switch-mode
AC power supply. For more information about this power supply, refer to
support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109478699.
Note
Power sources can be connected to either power supply terminal block on the device.
