The pump is making a loud humming noise probably best described as vibration noise. The water pressure in the house is still normal. I tried resetting the pump but the noise came straight back instantly.

A loud humming or vibration noise in a Stuart Turner MAINSBOOST VariQ pump could be caused by the pump being mounted in a way that amplifies noise through loose panels or pipework. Care must be taken during installation to ensure secure mounting to avoid such noise issues.

No, it is not normal. If the Stuart Turner MAINSBOOST VariQ pump turns off frequently when no taps are on, it may indicate a leak in the system, debris under the non-return valve sealing face, or improper pipework installation. Running the pump at full flow to flush debris or checking and replacing the non-return valve may help resolve the issue.
