Checking voltage
Hot-swappable and non-hot-swappable components
Some components of both devices are hot-swappable; they can be removed and
replaced without powering down either device. Other components are not
hot-swappable; they require powering down of the entire system and devices. Refer
to the NetBackup 5220 and Symantec Storage Shelf Hardware Troubleshooting Guide for
detailed lists of hot-swappable and non-hot-swappable components.
Checking the NetBackup 5220

Set the multimeter to the voltage position and connect one lead to a fixed place
in the equipment room (you may need to extend the lead cable) and the other
pointer to measure each grounding point inside the cabinet. Given the
measuring accuracy, the voltage measured at each grounding point should
range between 0 V and 5 V. If the voltage measured at a grounding point is 0 V,
the point is not grounded. In the case of a value larger than 5 V, check the
grounding cable, connecting terminal and fastening screw at the grounding
point and make appropriate corrections.
All components are securely attached
All components are undamaged
No blockages obstruct air vents
