Install the Netmods — SV2800 & SV3800 Only
The SV2800 and SV3800 appliances do not include Network Modules (Netmods), which must
be purchased separately from Symantec. The Netmods are installed in the front bays of the
appliance with the ports numbered left to right and top to bottom.
Note:
The SV800 and SV1800 appliances include integrated Ethernet ports.
Warning:
Netmods are not hot-swappable. Make sure to power off the appliance before
installing or removing them. Failing to do so could damage the Netmods.
To install a Netmod:
a. Power off the appliance.
b. Remove the Netmod carrier:
Remove the screw from the lever of the Netmod carrier, pulling the lever away from the
o
Netmod carrier, approximately 1" (25mm), so the latch releases.
Gently pull the Netmod carrier out of the slot.
o
c. Insert the Netmod:
Insert the Netmod in the empty slot, making sure the far end of the latch is inside the
o
slot and the near end of the latch touches the outside of the slot.
o
Press gently on the Netmod lever, where the screw hole is, while pushing the module into
the chassis, so the latch engages.
o
Make sure the Netmod aligns with the other modules. It may be necessary to push on
the front of the module to fully seat it. If the module does not fully seat, try reinserting it
while observing the lever's latch on the right side of the module.
o
Secure the lever to the front of the chassis with the previously removed screw.
