This section describes how to connect to and manage the device.
3.1

Connecting a RUGGEDCOM WIN Subscriber Station

The RUGGEDCOM RP110 is designed to be a Power-over-Ethernet (POE) injector for
RUGGEDCOM WIN5000 series subscriber stations.
IMPORTANT
If the RUGGEDCOM RP110 is to be installed outdoors, make sure the connection
between both devices is bridged by a suitably rated lightening protector. For more

Configuring the Device

Configuration of the device is done via the RS-232 serial terminal, which provides
access to the boot-time control and RUGGEDCOM ROS console interface. The serial
terminal implements RS-232 DCE (Data Communication Equipment) on a Phoenix-
style compression connector.
IMPORTANT
Make sure a RUGGEDCOM WIN5000 series subscriber station is connected to the
RUGGEDCOM RP110 before configuring the device. For more information, refer to
