    Installing the Device 2.3.1 Mounting the Device to a Rack Note For detailed dimensions of the device with either rack, DIN rail or panel hardware in- stalled, refer to "Dimension Drawings (Page 38)". 2.3.1 Mounting the Device to a Rack For rack mount installations, the RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F can be ordered with rack mount adapters pre-installed at the front and rear of the chassis.

    Device Management This section describes how to connect to and manage the device. Connecting to the Device The following describes the various methods for accessing the RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F console and Web interfaces on the device. For more detailed instructions, refer to the RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F User Guide for the RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F. Serial Console and Management Ports Connect a workstation directly to the serial console or management ports to access the boot-time control and RUGGEDCOM RSG2488F interfaces.

    Modules 4.3 Installing/Removing Power Modules Connect power to the device. Installing a Module To install a line module, do the following: Make sure power to the device has been disconnected and wait approximately two minutes for any remaining energy to dissipate. [Optional] If the device is installed in a rack, remove it from the rack.
