13 Paper lift spring
1. Located on the Feed Table, inspect the Paper Lift Spring to insure that it is set to the proper
height. The height of the spring should be roughly 1/4" high, but not more than 3/8".
2. With the Feed Table in the "up" (run) position, the Paper Lift Spring should compress slightly
against the Feed Wheel. If it does, then setup of the Feed Table is complete. If the Paper Lift
Spring does not contact the Feed Wheel, perform the following;
a. Insure that the Stop Bolts are fully tightened within both Guide Plates.
b. Insure that the Feed Table is not binding when raising.
c. Double check the Paper Lift Spring and make sure that there is at least 1/4 to 3/8 inch
gap between the Feed Table and the Paper Lift Spring.
3. Setup of the Feed Table is complete.
14 Retarder Adjustment (sheet separator)
The retarder is also called the sheet separator. It is directly below the feed wheel.
Push the feed tray down and lock in the paper loading position.
