ELECTROCHEMICAL SETTINGS
The instrument's electronic calibration and the precision class of the PT 100 guarantee a maximum error of 0.3 °C
at 0°C and 0.8 °C at 100°C (Class B Pt100 according to IEC 751) . This error is acceptable in the vast majority of
cases therefore no calibration is required.
However, should the instrument need to be recalibrated, proceed as follows :
1.
Immerse the PT 100 in a container with water and ice.
Press the [ CAL ] key  << CAL >> appears on the display.
2.
Press the [ - ] key  the P 97 displays the current value, flashing
3.
4.
Press the [ + ] key to increase the setting.
5.
Press the [ - ] key to decrease the setting.
6a.
Press the [ CAL ] key to confirm the new setting.
6b.
Press the [ NEXT ] key to retain the preceding setting in memory.
7.
Immerse the PT 100 in a container with boiling water (100°C) or another liquid with a known
temperature (higher than 70°C).
Press the [ CAL ] key  << CAL >> appears on the display.
8.
Press the [ + ] key  the P 97 displays the value, flashing.
9.
10.
Press the [ + ] key to increase the setting.
11.
Press the [ - ] key to decrease the setting.
12a.
Press the [ CAL ] key to confirm the new setting.
12b.
Press the [ NEXT ] key to retain the preceding setting in memory.
It is also possible to calibrate at different temperatures from 0 and 100°C, but for obvious reasons (precision) we
recommend these two points.
If an attempt is made to set offset values too distant from start scale values, the µP 97 will automatically reject the
setting. The same happens if an attempt is made to calibrate the gain with an input signal which is too low. If the
µP 97 settings are forced with offset/gain values too distant from the standard, the following errors are emitted:
ERR 17 MINIMUM OFFSET LIMIT REACHED
ERR 18 MAXIMUM OFFSET LIMIT REACHED
ERR 19 MINIMUM GAIN LIMIT REACHED
ERR 20 MAXIMUM GAIN LIMIT REACHED
