ADDENDUM THERMOMETER INPUT
ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS
WALL MOUNTING VERSION
The signal arrives from a PT 100 sensor along a 2- or 3-pole cable which must be shielded if
its length exceeds 15 - 20 meters. It is connected to the 5-pin extractable terminal strip. The
pins are assigned as follows :
pin 12 = resistence
pin 13 = resistence + shortcircuit
pin 14 = shortcircuit
pin 15 = referemce (0V)
pin 16 = reference (0V)
The sensitive element must be connected to terminals 12 and 13, while the cable loss
compensation cable is connected to pin 14. Normally, the wires or terminals of the same
colour in a PT 100 are those which are mutually short-circuited and therefore must be
connected to terminals 13 and 14, while that with a different colour is connected to the sensitive element and must
be connected to terminal 12. If the PT 100 has only two wires, it is not possible to provide cable loss compensation.
In this case, terminals 13 and 14 must be bridged. If a shielded cable is used, the braiding must be connected to
either pin 15 or 16.
PANEL VERSION
The signal arrives from a PT 100 sensor along a 2- or 3-pole cable which must be shielded if its length exceeds 15
- 20 meters. It is connected to the 3-pin extractable terminal strip. The pins are assigned as follows :
pin 25 = resistence
pin 26 = resistence + shortcircuit
pin 27 = shortcircuit
The sensitive element must be connected to terminals 25 and 26, while the cable loss
compensation cable is connected to pin 27. Normally, the wires or terminals of the same
colour in a PT 100 are those which are mutually short-circuited and therefore must be
connected to terminals 26 and 27, while that with a different colour is connected to the
sensitive element and must be connected to terminal 25. If the PT 100 has only two wires,
it is not possible to provide cable loss compensation. In this case, terminals 26 and 27
must be bridged.
PERMANENT PROGRAMMING
Parameters 20, 21 and 22 are set automatically by the microcontroller which
recognises the position of the dip-switch S3 situated on the master card (see
drawing on right). If S3 is configured in a different way from that illustrated, we
cannot guarantee that the instrument will work correctly.
