ELECTRICAL SETTINGS
The µP 97 is usually supplied together with a transmitter and is therefore calibrated for the same. No further
calibration is required.
In the case of pressure transducers which are transformed into piezometric level detection system, it is sometimes
necessary to zero calibrate in order to eliminate the offset due to the positioning of the transducer which does not
coincide with zero) and the gain (transducer error if any).
In order to calibrate, proceed as follows :
1.
Send the start scale signal to the transmitter (e.g. 0 or 4 mA)
Press the [ CAL ] key  << CAL >> appears on the display.
2.
Press the [ - ] key  The P97 displays the current value, flashing.
3.
4.
Press the [ + ] key to increase the setting.
5.
Press the [ - ] key to decrease the setting.
6a.
Press the [ CAL ] key to confirm the new setting.
6b.
Press the [ NEXT ] key to retain the previous setting in memory.
7.
Send the full scale signal to the transmitter (or a signal that is 70% of the range).
Press the [ CAL ] key  << CAL >> appears on the display.
8.
Press the [ + ] key  The P97 displays the current value, flashing.
9.
10.
Press the [ + ] key to increase the setting.
11.
Press the [ - ] key to decrease the setting.
12a.
Press the [ CAL ] key to confirm the new setting.
12b.
Press the [ NEXT ] key to retain the previous setting in memory.
If an attempt is made to calibrate the offset with values that are too distant from the start scale value, the µP 97 will
automatically reject the setting. The same happens if an attempt is made to calibrate the gain with an input signal
which is too low. If the µP 97 settings are forced with offset/gain values too distant from the standard, the following
errors are emitted :
ERR 17 MINIMUM OFFSET LIMIT REACHED
ERR 18 MAXIMUM OFFSET LIMIT REACHED
ERR 19 MINIMUM GAIN LIMIT REACHED
ERR 20 MAXIMUM GAIN LIMIT REACHED
