In normal dosing conditions, pump should be inspected at least once a month.
To avoid malfunctioning or sudden shut-down, carefully check the following components:
- check that electrical and hydraulic connections are undamaged
- check there is no leaking in hoses and fittings
- check there are no corroded parts of pump and/or hoses.
Foot filter and valves must be inspected and cleaned at least once a year.
After a non-use period of the pump, clean delivery/ suction valves and foot filter to remove possible
crystalline deposits on the balls. To remove these deposits, follow the instructions below:
- unscrew the ring nut of the injection connection and soak the foot filter in a container with water.
- make the pump suck water for five minutes in order to remove the product dosed.
- replace water with a reagent suitable for dissolving the crystals and flush for ten minutes.
- suck water again for five minutes.
- secure the delivery hose to injection connection and start the metering pump.
It is important that the holding ring nuts are well tightened to prevent the additive from flowing out of the
pump, as this may damage the pump; should it happen, stop the pump, tighten the ring nuts and clean
the pump with water.
If the pump is sent back to GEL for repairing, it is necessary to:
- build a bypass connection with a small tube between the delivery and the suction valve.
- completely remove the liquid inside the pump body
- thoroughly dry the pump
- pack the pump in its original carton!
If after emptying the pump body a very corrosive liquid can still cause damages, it is necessary
to declare that in the return documents of the pump!
How to replace the fuse:
To replace the fuse, it is necessary to use two cross screwdrivers 3x16 and 3x15 and a fuse (same type
as the one blown).
- Remove the 6 screws on the back of the pump.
- Pull pump back cover until it is completely separated from the front and anyway to access to the circuit
on the front of the pump.
- Identify the fuse and replace it with a new one (same type as the one blown).
- Reassemble the back of the pump until it is completely in contact with the front.
- Screw the 6 screws back on the pump.
How to replace the circuit:
To replace the circuit, it is necessary to use two cross
screwdrivers 3x16 and 3x15 and a circuit with the
same electrical specifications (power supply) as the
one to be replaced.
- Remove the 6 screws on the back of the pump.
- Pull pump back cover until it is completely separated
from the front and disconnect all wires connected to
the circuit.
- Remove the fixing screws of the circuit.
- Replace the circuit after taking note of the wires
position (see circuit diagram) and fix the circuit to
the pump by screwing the fixing screws back.
- Connect all wires to the new circuit.
- Reassemble the back of the pump until it is
completely in contact with the front.
- Screw the 6 screws back on the pump.
IMPORTANT: If the power supply cable needs to be replaced, use original cable only.
If you need to replace worn out and/or damaged components, always use original spare parts.
