Installation Place
Make sure that pump is installed in a safe place and fix it in such a way as to avoid movements due to
vibrations produced during operation!
Make sure that pump is installed in an easily accessible place!
Pump must be installed with the fixing base in vertical position!
Avoid water splashes and direct sun.
Hoses and valves
Suction and delivery valves must always be installed in vertical position!
Connect all hoses to the pump by only using your hands ! Do not use any tools to tighten ring nuts!
Delivery hose must be securely fixed to avoid sudden movements which might break or damage near
objects!
Suction hose must be as short as possible and installed in vertical position to avoid air bubbles suction!
Check that during installation pipes are without any working shavings or any other foreign bodies.
For dosing non-GEL products, please consult our Technical Department.
9.3 INSTALLATION
The carton of the metering pump contains everything necessary for installation. To put a metering pump
into operation, place it on vertical wall, on the tank or on the water meter with impulse sender, according
to the model, so that the valves of the metering head are always in vertical position.
The metering pump must be installed in a ventilated place easy to access for the operator to carry out
maintenance.
Make sure that the height between the pump body and the product suction does not exceed 1,5 metres.
Connect the suction hose (transparent one) to the suction fitting (valve at the bottom of the pump body);
insert first the ring nut into the hose, then the holding ring and the cone (hose connection) thoroughly.
Installation consists of the following operations:
- Positioning of the metering pump
- Installation of the water meter with impulse sender on the water pipe
- Electrical connection between metering pump and water meter with impulse sender
- Installation and connection of the injection point of the metering pump on the water pipe
- A socket to connect the metering pump ("SCHUKO" plug) is required. See next section 9.4.
Installation must be carried out by following installation drawings at section 10.
Even though the product is directly injected in a tank without back pressure, the injection connection must
be mounted anyway in order to guarantee a better dosing stability. It is highly not recommended to install
the pump in such a way that the level of the container of the product to dose is higher than the injection
point without back pressure, since a possible breaking of the injection connection makes the product come
out from the container. If it is not possible to do otherwise, it is recommended to install on the suction side
an on-off valve, which remains closed whenever the pump is off. Periodically check the condition of injection
valve and replace if worn out. For very corrosive products do not place the product container under the
metering pump as the emission of possible fumes may damage the pump.
9.4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Electrical connections of the pump must be performed by qualified staff.
Pump must be connected to power mains through the "SCHUKO" plug included in the supply or the
special power supply cable. Before carrying out electrical connections, follow the instructions below:
- make sure the socket is fitted with an effective grounding system, equipped with a differential switch with
a sensitivity of 0,03 A
- make sure the rating voltage is the same as the power supply one
- make the grounding before any other connection.
ELECTRICAL FEATURES: Power supply voltage for model 230V 198-242 Vac - 50-60 Hz
THE GREEN LED ON CONFIRMS THAT THE PUMP HAS BEEN SWITCHED ON THROUGH A UNIPOLAR
SWITCH.
