2.5.1 CAN TXD/RXD and SPI connections (UJA1164A/68AF/68AXF-EVB)

The digital interface pins are located on the top side header J3 (J3-01 to J3-06), as well
as on the bottom side connector J4. Two of these pins, TXD and RXD, are used for CAN
data communication with the MCU. The remaining pins are used for communication with
the MCU, either as SPI signals (see
(see
Table
11).
For variants with an SPI interface (UJA1164A, UJA1168A), integrated Multiple Time
Programmable Non-Volatile (MTPNV) memory cells allow the device to reload previously
configured settings at power up. The device boots up in Forced Normal mode when not
previously configured. Factory preset values can be restored if certain conditions are
met.
