CEREC Bluecam

8.2
CAUTION
If the Bluecam has accidentally fallen down, check to make sure that
the front lens and prism are not damaged. If it has been damaged, the
CEREC Bluecam must not be used on patients any more.
The CEREC Bluecam must be recalibrated in any case.
NOTE
Do not under any circumstances sterilize the CEREC Bluecam or the
video cable!
NOTE
The prism tubing is not suitable for autoclaving!
NOTE
For markets where the RKI* guidelines are to be observed
The prismatic tube is classified as a "semicritical medical device A"
according to RKI guidelines and therefore does not have to be
autoclavable.

CEREC Bluecam without sapphire glass

8.2.1.1

General information

The CEREC Bluecam is a very sensitive optical device and must
therefore be handled with the utmost care. Protect the front lens or
prism against scratches and clean them with a lint-free cloth and
ethanol (commercially available cleaning alcohol) if any haze is noted
during the acquisition.
The following methods are available for cleaning the prismatic tube:
● Wipe disinfection for the camera and prismatic tube  [→ 46]
● High-level disinfection of the prismatic tube without sapphire glass 
[→ 47]
● Hot air sterilization of the prismatic tube  [→ 49]
