B. Engine Controller

1. Outline

The engine controller controls the operational sequences of this printer. It consists of the fixing
control circuit, high-voltage power supply circuit, low-voltage power supply circuit and fan
motor drive circuit. According to instructions from the CPU (IC201), the fixing control circuit
performs temperature control for the fixing unit, whereas the high-voltage power supply circuit
generates high-voltage power. The low-voltage power supply circuit generates the DC power
required in the printer. The fan motor drive circuit drives the fan motor following the instruc-
tion from the IC201.
Figure 2-2-2 shows the block diagram of this circuit and each circuit will be explained in the
following.
