Caratteristiche del freno a disco
I freni a disco, se si confrontano con
quelli a tamburo, hanno le seguenti
caratteristiche e vantaggi:
- L'evacuazione di calore dalle superfici
di attrito è molto efficace, poichè i dis-
chi girano a contatto diretto con l'aria.
Per questo motivo abbiamo sempre
una capacità di frenata stabile, anche
quando si usa ripetutamente il freno
ad alte velocità. Detto in altro modo, il
rischio di "fadding" è molto inferiore.
- Nessuno dei componenti del freno a
disco è esposto ad alcuna deformazio-
ne dovuta alle temperature elevate.
- La sostituzione delle pastiglie freno è
semplice e non richiede regolazioni
complicate.
- Si assicura un costante funzionamen-
to dei freni poichè, pur bagnandosi i
dischi in caso si pioggia, la capacità di
recupero della forza di frenata è ecce-
llente, dovuto alle caratteristiche
d'estrema pressione delle pastiglie
freno.
- Possiede un tatto soave poichè ha
una piccola, ma sufficente, zona
d'attrito.

Disc brakes show the following cha-
racteristics and advantages when com-
pared with drum brakes:
- Dissipation of heat from the friction
surfaces is very efficient, since the
disc rotates in direct contact with the
air. This means that we always have
available a stable braking capacity,
even when using the brake repeatedly
at high speeds. In other words, the risk
of "Fading" is very much less.
- None of the parts of a disc brake are
exposed to any kind of deformation
due to high temperatures.
- Changing the brake pads is simple
and does not required complicated
adjustments.
- The operation of the brake is constant,
and even when wet as a result of dri-
ving through wet conditions, the capa-
city for recovery of braking is exce-
llent, due to the extremely high braking
pressure exerted by the brake pads.
- The disc brake has a smooth feel
since the friction surface is small, alt-
hough sufficient.

Im Vergleich zur Trommelbremse
haben Scheibenbremsen folgende
Eigenschaften und Vorteile:
- Die Wärmeableitung an den Reibflächen
ist sehr wirksam, da sich die Scheiben in
unmittelbarem Luftkontakt drehen. Daher
bleibt das Bremsvermögen durchgehend
stabil, selbst wenn bei hoher
Geschwindikeit mehrmals hintereinander
gebremst wird. Anders ausgedrückt: Das
Risiko des 'Fading' ist sehr viel geringer.
- Kein Bestandteil der Scheibenbremse ist
der Verformung durch Wärmeeinwirkung
ausgesetzt.
- Das Auswechseln der Bremsbeläge ist
einfach und erfordert keinerlei
komplizierte Einstellungen.
- Eine konstante Funktionstüchtigkeit der
Bremsen ist gewährleistet, denn selbst
wenn bei Regenwetter die Scheibe naß
wird, ist die Rückgewinnung der
Bremskraft dank der extremen
Druckverhältnisse, unter denen die
Bremsbacken arbeiten, vorzüglich.
- Es bremst sich leicht und ohne
Anstrengung, denn die Reibfläche ist
klein, wenngleich vollkomen
ausreichend.
