Abbreviation of Direct Current. Alternative writing style: "d.c."
Component which converts a DC voltage into another DC voltage.
Normally, DC/DC converters also provide for voltage separation. DC/DC
converters are, for example, used in the fieldbus modules FI 830F,
FI 820F and FI 810F.
The PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt = Federal German
Institute of Physics and Technology) in Braunschweig/Germany transmits
a standard time signal from its long-wave transmitter station near
Frankfurt/Main. This signal can be received by a DCF77 clock and is then
used for synchronizing the times throughout the Freelance 2000 system.
The DCF77 radio clock is connected to the AC 800F diagnostic interface.

Debugging module for service purposes, only.
Diagnostic cable TK 890F (10 m) or TK 891F (5 m) serves for connecting
a diagnostic PC or laptop to the AC 800F.
RS232 interface of the AC 800F; for status and error message output
during diagnosis. The diagnostic interface is also used for connecting a

RS485 interface of the AC 800F for connecting subsystems like balances
and bar code readers via Modbus protocol. Two of these interfaces are
available on the fieldbus module FI 820F. → RS485 interface

Always cover unused slots with dummy panels (caps) to protect the
electronics from being touched and provide for good EMI/RIF shielding
and RFI suppression capabilities of the AC 800F.
Acronym for Error Detection Correction.
A check sum is assigned to every 32-bit value in the main memory to
improve the data integrity.
Acronym for Electrically Erasable and Programmable Read only Memory.
The EEPROM is an advanced EPROM. While EPROMS can only be
erased with an ultraviolet ray lamp, it is possible to erase built-in
EEPROMS. EEPROM are used on the CPU board and on the module
boards for storing manufacturing information (e.g. serial No. or version

No.)
Electromagnetic Compatibility.
Represents the EMI/RFI shielding capability as well as the degree of RFI
suppression of a unit.
Electromagnetic Interference
Degree of shielding against external EMI and RFI. → RFI suppression,
