Diagnosing the AC 800 controller via the AC 800F Web server

The previous section of this manual describes how to connect a terminal or terminal
emulation to the AC 800F diagnostic interface. In practical life, however, sometimes
no terminal or TK 890F/TK 891F connection cable is available. Often the AC 800F
units are installed in places where no operator station exists. For this reason, a Web
server has been implemented in the AC 800F operating system (V 5.1 and higher).
This Web server enables the user to request special diagnostic data from the
AC 800F via the Ethernet and display the data in the browser.
The data provided under the individual menu options are in parts self-explaining and
in parts quite sophisticated, since they were tailored to special service or development
requirements. Therefore, the individual menu options are not described here in detail.
This section is only intended to inform you about this new feature which allows you to
request first diagnostic data from the system without the need for additional
equipment and cables/links.
Preparation
Get the IP address of the respective unit to be able to access the Web server in
the AC 800 F operating system.
Mask out the respective IP address, or better said the respective IP area, for a
possibly configured proxy server, to avoid that the browser attempts to access the
AC 800F Web server via the proxy server.
Configuration example using the Microsoft Internet Explorer:
Open the respective dialog box via:
Tools → → → → Internet options → → → → Connections → → → → LAN settings
→ → → → Use a proxy server → → → → Advanced → → → → Exceptions
