Burst flash EPROM, for rapid access to ROM, software/firmware update possible
without replacing the EPROM.
Serial RS232, diagnostic and radio clock interface, to be connected via 9-pin
connector on power supply module, ready for operation in a redundant system.
Operating elements - Run/Stop switch, Reset switch and Toggle switch - on
power supply module.
LED status indicator on power supply module, indicating CPU status.
Redundant battery supply of the CPU boards PM 802F and PM 803F possible via
battery or Ethernet modules plugged in slots E1 and E2. Power supply monitoring
and change-over to battery-buffering of RAM data.
Data signal evaluation when battery is low or not connected.
CPU board temperature monitoring, both through cyclical temperature
measurement and asynchronous signaling if temperature limit value is exceeded.
Counting of operating hours at normal and excess temperature.
Fieldbus modules can be plugged in and removed when live, i. e. while the
system is running. Observe the instructions in Section 7.1.
Automatic recognition and identification of a fieldbus module plugged in slot
F1 ... F4 while the system is running (plug and play functionality), thanks to I
interface.
Evaluation of data error signaling from a module (parity error interrupt).
Up to 4 different interrupts per fieldbus module (F1 ... F4).
Reserved address domain on every module, 8 MB for memory access and 8 MB
for I/O access.
Operating temperature range 0 ... 60 °C, no fan required.
Note that the housing is an integral part which is decisive for the permissible
heat. If parts of the housing are removed (back panel, side panel, dummy panels,
module front panel), this will reduce the permissible operating temperature.
Follow the mounting and installation instructions in Section 3.
Monitoring of the internal operating voltages.
An independent watchdog module reliably prevents any 'blocking' of the
operating system.
