4. Preparing the reading

Inserting / changing the batteries

Open the battery cover on the underside of the device (see
Fig. 1). Insert the batteries (see Chapter 12 'Technical data').
Ensure correct polarity ('+' and '–') when inserting batteries.
Close the battery lid.
Set date and time as described below.
If the 'Change battery' symbol

Setting the date and time

Be sure to set the date and time correctly. This is the only
way to save your measured values correctly with date and
time for subsequent retrieval.
