If either Modbus or DNP options are enabled, then use the Annunciator Configurator
application to setup the Ethernet port. Otherwise, use this procedure. The Ethernet
configuration can be set through the serial port on the back of the unit while connected
to a terminal emulation program on a PC. In order to do this, you will need to gain
access to the Communications card in the unit. Remove the window assembly from
the CSM cell to gain access to the Communications card. Please refer to the System
Configuration and Setup section of this manual to locate the CSM cell and the
Communications card. To configure the Ethernet port:
1) Power up the unit and wait 60 seconds after unit is operational.
2) Locate the 2 pushbutton microswitches on the front edge of the
Communications card. The pushbuttons are faciing out of the unit.
3) Press the lower microswitch. This will set a flag in the database that will take
affect upon the next reboot.
4) Power off the unit.
5) Connect a serial cable from the serial port on the back of the unit to a serial port
on the PC.
6) Open up a terminal emulation program as shown in the following figure, and
configure it as follows: 9600 baud, 1 stop bit, no parity, turn off local echo.
7) Power on the unit.
8) After the Communications card boots up, a numbered menu will be presented in
the in the terminal program. Follow the menu choices to configure the Ethernet
Port Settings on the unit. Save & apply the new settings.
