The conventions used in this manual to illustrate instrument
keys and display information are as follows:
<Menu> This is an example of a hardkey. Hardkeys (located to the right
of the display) are used to give access to different sets of
instrument settings, or select dedicated instrument functions.
Menu Items
Menu items appear in text in bold with the greater than (>)
symbol separating each menu level. For example, if you are
instructed to choose Errors and Alarms from the Test Functions
menu, it appears as Test Functions > Errors and Alarms.
Field Items
Field items you can select will appear in bold, for example
select Signal Rate field.
Drop Down The item you must select from a drop down list is also shown in
Lists bold. For example, select Signal Rate field and choose STM-1 or
OC-3 from the drop down list.
