In case of overload.
For switching off in case of an overload, the motor must be thermally protected. RACO electric motors
are fitted with a thermo-contact or a posistor temperature sensor, which signals any excessive motor
temperature to the system controls.
Note!
Further information on the electric motor can be found in the operating in-
structions of the RACO electric motor or the installed motor.
2.2.2.1 Safety instructions
The safety instructions in these operating instructions are intended to protect personnel and
equipment against danger and damage which may arise from the improper use, incorrect operation,
inadequate maintenance or other improper handling of RACO electrical cylinders.
The following safety instructions refer principally to the installation and commissioning of the RACO
electrical cylinder.
In order to avoid physical injury or equipment damage, work such as transport, installation, commis-
sioning and repairs may only be carried out by qualified staff (e.g. qualified electricians) who are famil -
iar with electrical equipment.
Note!
Opening the RACO electrical cylinder will invalidate the guarantee, and
can also lead to damage. In case of problems or damage, the RACO elec-
trical cylinder must be opened and repaired only by the manufacturer.
Considerable thrust and compression forces can occur at the thrust tube of the electrical cylinder. Haz-
ards caused directly or indirectly by possible shearing or crushing spots must be avoided by sufficient
clearance distances to stationary equipment near the thrust tube, the actuating element and the driven
element. During operation, this equipment and its components have dangerous, live, moving or rotat-
ing parts. When the electrical cylinder is completely opened, hazards can particularly be caused by ro-
tating shaft ends. Any feather keys inserted must be removed or suitable measures must be taken to
prevent them coming loose.
Before the device is set up, installed and put into operation, the technical instructions (or the part re -
lated to the work to be done) must be read and heeded. This also applies to configuration, program-
ming, modification of conditions of use and modes of operation as well as for servicing. The technical
instructions must be available near the device whenever work is being carried out.
Danger through electric current or voltage!
The drive unit, device attachments, control units and converters contain
components susceptible to electrical discharge that can become damaged
through improper treatment. Above all, fingers must never be allowed to
touch connector contacts.
Even when the motor is not rotating, control and power connections on the motor, device attachments,
control units and converters can still be live and hazardous.
