2.2.3 Installation
Preparations
Remove all transport equipment prior to installation.
Crash of the product due to insufficient load handling device!
Severe injuries up to death.
Only use tested and appropriate load handling devices.
Load handling device only to be carefully connected on the main chassis or on the in-
tended spots.
Do not stay under floating loads.
Danger of damage!
For RACO Electric Actuators of cylinder type 6, the thread of the rod adapter must be
screwed as far as possible into the push/pull tube and secured with the lock-nut.
The push/pull forces can only be transmitted reliably and without damage to the
cylinder if the thread length is used fully, and the screw connection is firmly locked in
place.
In case of vertical or hanging installation uncontrollable crash of
product due to missing fall arresting device
Severe injuries up to death.
Secure product against crash.
Do not linger in hazard area below product.
Installation sequence
In order to ensure the long working life and smooth operation of the RACO electrical cylinder, care
must be taken to follow the installation instructions exactly. The installation sequence is very import-
ant, and must be followed.
Checklist of installation sequence:
1.
Installation of the RACO electrical cylinder.
2.
Installation of the electrical connections for the motor, thermo-contact and end-position switches.
3.
Alignment of the RACO electrical cylinder and tightening of all attachment screws.
4.
Setting the end-position switches.
2.2.3.1 Mechanical Installation
The electrical cylinder's thrust tube has been designed to absorb and transfer compression and thrust
forces in axial direction up to the specified maximum force. During mechanical installation of the elec-
trical cylinder, care must be taken that it is installed absolutely flush to the structure. Lateral forces and torques
are not permitted.
Danger of crushing!
Danger of crushing when installing the RACO electrical cylinder. Ensure proper stability
and adequate installation room. Support the weight of the electrical cylinder with suit-
able lifting equipment.
