Storing the motor after use
When you place the motor in storage after use, drain the cooling water ducts and purge them
with air so that they are completely empty.
Ensure that the remaining water can drain.
Long-term storing
Note
Maximum storage time up to two years
The storage time affects the properties of the roller bearing grease.
• Store the motor for up to two years at 5 °C to 40 °C.
Note
In the case of intermediate storage lasting over 6 months, special measures must be applied
for preservation.
• Contact Technical Support.
If you store the motor for longer than six months, the storage area must meet the following
conditions:
● The motor must be protected against extreme weather conditions.
● The air must be free of corrosive gases.
● The storage area must be free of vibration (v
● In accordance with EN 60034-1, the temperature must lie in the range 5 °C up to 40 °C.
● The relative humidity of the air must be less than 60%.
Check the correct state of the motor every six months.
● Check the motor for any damage.
● Perform any necessary maintenance work.
● Check the state of the desiccant and replace it when necessary.
● Record the preservation work so that all preservation coating can be removed prior to the
commissioning.
Condensation
The following ambient conditions encourage the formation of condensation:
● Significant fluctuations of the ambient temperature,
● Direct sunshine,
● High air humidity during storage.
Avoid these ambient conditions.
Use a desiccant in the packaging.
