9  Servicing
Purpose of this chapter
This chapter presents the servicing schedule and gives servicing instructions for your appliance.
9.1  

 Safe working when servicing the appliance

For your safety
Before starting work, familiarize yourself with the hazards described in 'Hazards and safety precau‐
tions during servicing' on page 21.
Eligibility of personnel for servicing
Only qualified personnel from an authorized service company are permitted to service the appliance.
Personal protective equipment
Wear the personal protective equipment specified in the section 'Personal protective equipment' on
page 28 of the 'For your safety' chapter for the relevant tasks.
Rules for safe operation of the hood
Observe the following rules to prevent hazards when operating the hood:
The cap of the wastewater pipe must always be mounted during operation of the hood.
Live parts
Risk of electric shock from live parts and damaged cables
When the safety cover is open, there is a risk of electric shock from touching live parts.
Make sure that any work on the electrical system is performed solely by a qualified electrician from
an authorized service company.
Switch off the power to the combi oven and the hood when work is done on the hood or the control
cable.
Switch off the combi oven and the hood before removal of the top box of the combi oven and
before opening the cover of the hood.
Take special care for jobs that require electrical power and must be performed with the appliance's
top box removed.
Take special care for jobs that require electrical power and must be performed with the hood
casing or the electrical box cover removed.
Always reinstall the hood casing and electrical box cover before the power to the hood is switched
on again.
Make sure that the electrical connections are intact and connected securely.
Rotating fan wheel
Risk of hand injuries or hair or loose clothing being caught by fan wheel
When operating the hood with the hood casing not installed or removed, the rotating fan wheel can
cause injuries to the hands or entangle hair or loose clothing.
Disconnect the hood from the power supply before removing the hood casing.
Always install the hood casing before restoring power to the hood.
Take special care for jobs that require electrical power and must be performed with the hood
casing or the electrical box cover removed.
