Problem
Print media misfeeds or multiple feeds
occur.
The envelope is creased after printed.
Page breaks in unexpected places.
Print media does not stack neatly in the
output tray.
Action
Make sure that the print media meets the specifications for the printer.

Do not mix print media types.
Do not mix reams of print media.
Make sure that the print media is not curled.
Remove the top and bottom curled sheets of a ream before loading the
print media.
Flex, fan, and straighten the print media before loading it.
Turn the print media over or around and print again.
Make sure that the print media is loaded correctly.

Do not overload tray1, the optional 550-sheet feeder, or the bypass tray.
Do not force print media into the bypass tray when you load it; otherwise, it
may skew or buckle.
Make sure that the recommended print side is facing up.

Make sure that the width and length guides are adjusted correctly.
Make sure that tray1, the optional 550-sheet feeder, or the bypass tray is
securely inserted.
Load envelopes in the bypass tray instead of tray1.

When you select [Covers Thick] as the paper type, perform the following.
1 Load print media in the bypass tray.
2 Select [Rough Surface] in [Paper Type].

Wipe the retard roller and paper feed rollers of tray1, the optional
550-sheet feeder, or the bypass tray with a soft lint-free cloth.

Make sure that the envelope is loaded as instructed in "Loading Envelopes
(P.75)."
Increase the value for time-out on the operator panel, or CentreWare
Internet Services.
Turn the print media stack over in tray1, the optional 550-sheet feeder, or
the bypass tray.
